Welcome to the web site of the Higgins project. The project, instigated in 2003, is a CTT research project aimed at researching and developing a prototype dialogue system focussed at designing, testing and evaluating error handling strategies.
The project, as well as many of its modules, bear Pygmalion-related names. "Pygmalion-related" includes the Bernard Shaw play Pygmalion, the Greek myth Pygmalion & Galatea, and the musical My Fair Lady. Any similarity between the characters and the modules is coincidental. The fact that Henry Higgins is a self-righteous and willful bully, Colonel Pickering sensitive and understanding, and the sculpture Galatea beautiful beyond description to her creator, thus, does not in any way reflect the Higgins project, the pickering semantic interpreter and the Galatea discourse modeller.
