On this page you can view the results from a student assignment at the MiLaSS summer school. As default, all expressions are shown here using the Gustav face model. Press here for Sven. Select results to view here: Student group 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. The task for each group of students was to define six basic emotions (surprise,sadness, happiness, disgust, fear and anger) and three custom expressions of their own choice. There were about ten parameters available for this, but the main parameters most useful for creating facial expressions were smile, eyebrow raise, jaw rotation and eyelid closure. Time on task for most groups was about 30-40 minutes, which explains why not all emotions were completed by all student groups. It was possible to choose between the two faces Sven and Gustav while creating the expressions. The students did not get to see any facial expression examples of our synthetic faces before they started the task.
