Inégales (or swing)

This example demonstrates the effect of one rule which lengthens the stressed notes in sequences of notes having the same note value. The rule reflects a convention used in Baroque music as well as in jazz.
You can vary the duration relations between the stressed and unstressed notes.

The graphs show how much the durations of the tones are changed in % of their nominal duration. The Swing ratio is the duration ratio of two consecutive eighth notes.
