Seminar at Speech, Music and Hearing:

Musical Creativity

Abstract

This seminar presents a research project on musical creativity. The aim of the project is to do the following:

* Present computational theory of musical creativity.
* Develop a computer tool, primarily for investigating the relationships between types of generative processes and types of variations in the music.
* Discuss evaluation methods.

Some of the presuppositions and central concepts will be discussed. Central parts of the theory will be outlined. The steps in the project will be explained and evaluation issues will be discussed.
