A keyboard...How quaint! - Building the Next Generation intuitive speech interfaces
Human Communication seminar series
Future human-machine interfaces need to allow complex interaction without tears, both for the population at large and for user groups with special needs. This requires the development of advanced interface technologies that support interaction through different modalities depending on the situation at hand. This talk will focus on interfaces which use speech as the main modality. In order to ensure ease-of-use, development of the next generation intuitive speech interfaces needs to be user centered. This talk will describe some methods for collecting the necessary interactional data needed to build these speech interfaces.
