The presentation will give an overview of some of the practices in music therapy today. The focus will be on methods for enabling children with special needs to work with and create expressive music. Examples of such needs are related to disturbed physical and mental development, restricted movement control, hearing loss and use of cochlear implants, and visual impairment. Advantages and examples of using computer-based interfaces and instruments will be discussed.
