Corrective re-synthesis of deviant speech - making it clear or making a mess?

I will report results from an ongoing study on children with phonological impairment (PI) and their reactions to hearing recordings of their own speech. Moreover, I will outline an upcoming study on how these children react to hearing synthetically corrected versions of their own deviant speech. A unit selection approach to corrective re-synthesis will be presented, together with results from a listener evaluation.
