Recent advances in neuroscience for Human-Machine Interaction
Bashar Awwad Shiekh Hasan, Voice Neurocognition Laboratory, Institute of Neuroscience and Psychology, University of Glasgow.
This talk will discuss recent trends in neuroscience for the study of multimodal interaction. The multimodal interface can be seen as a human-computer interaction problem, as in the field of brain-computer interfaces (BCI), or as an interaction between various regions in the brain communicating together to facilitate perception. Recent advances in neuroscience, machine learning and HCI have led to the development of new communication means between man and machine where brain signals are used for control. The talk will touch on the emergence of new devices to bring BCI closer to everyday use.
