Seminar at Speech, Music and Hearing:

Psychophysiological measurement

PerMagnus Lindborg, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

Generally, people are only partly aware of the way and extent in which they are affected by omnipresent sonic environments. In an experimental setting, evidence of a response can be gathered from self-reports, physiological measures, behavioural analysis, and so forth. This talk will briefly present a study of physiological responses to soundscapes, th I will discuss the method in detail and demonstrate the hardware system used (Thought Technology ProComp8, I\'ll bring it so you can test it). Furthermore, I will relate findings in select works presented at ICME3 (June 2013, Jyväskylä) that involve psychophysiological measurement in sound and music emotion research.

15:15 - 17:00
