Hello
Thank you for such a valuable program.

I'd like to report a few possible bugs in wavesurfer 1.5.6 source tcl. I am using a Pendium 4 2.6GHz win2000 PC.
    1.I want to use the right mouse button to bring up the label menu without pressing the shift button. I don't mind pressing the shift button to bring up the main popup menu. To do that I change the "Label menu event" in the label pane properties from Shift-ButtonPress-3 to ButtonPress-3 and then I change the "Popup menu event" in "File-Preferences" menu from ButtonPress-3 to Shift-ButtonPress-3. After that, I get the Label menu ok, but I don't get the main popup menu when I press shift-ButtonPress-3. The shift-ButtonPress-3 event seems to be blocked by the Label menu event.

    2.The "Adjust right boundary event" default is set to Control-r. However, this is the setting for the "File-Revert" menu item. One of them should change.

    3.Althought I get the greek character set ok for labelling with the source tcl distribution, I am unable to use it with the windows binaries (v1.5.7).

    4.When I try to browse the labels, using the browse item from the label pane menu, I get the following error:

    Code:
    wrong # args: should be "regexp ?switches? exp string ?matchVar? ?subMatchVar subMatchVar ...?"
        while executing
    "regexp -nocase {asfd}"
        ("eval" body line 1)
        invoked from within
    "eval regexp $nocase $v(pattern) \{$v(t1,$ind,label)\}"
        (procedure "find" line 14)
        invoked from within
    "find .x2.s2 .x2.s2.workspace.pane_5"
        (in namespace inscope "::wsurf::trans" script line 1)
        invoked from within
    "::namespace inscope ::wsurf::trans {find .x2.s2 .x2.s2.workspace.pane_5}"
        invoked from within
    ".browse_x2_s2_workspace_pane_5.f.l invoke"
        ("uplevel" body line 1)
        invoked from within
    "uplevel #0 [list $w invoke]"
        (procedure "tk::ButtonUp" line 24)
        invoked from within
    "tk::ButtonUp .browse_x2_s2_workspace_pane_5.f.l"
        (command bound to event)

Thank you
Dimitrios

1. This works for me. But one problem is of course that once you open a new transcription pane you cannot get to its properties... since the default is Shift-ButtonPress-1. Use Control-ButtonPress-1 in Preferences instead maybe...

2. Thanks for spotting that one! I guess Revert stays and that totally new keys gets assigned to adjust * boundary... I'm mostly using Linux where Revert is Alt-r.

3. This is probably because the binary uses TclKit which only comes with a few character encodings built-in "ascii, cp1252, iso8859-1, iso8859-2, macRoman". Possibly, this might be fixed through a plug-in. Otherwise, simply use the source version.

4. Please send a sound file and matching transcription files that exhibits this problem, or specify exactly how you go about to get the message.

Kare

thanks for the replies.

Looking better into it, I get the Bowse Labels error when I press the find button, while I have entered nothing in the textbox, or a '*' or a '-' or a " or most of the non alphanumeric characters. I understand this should be a regular expression, but that's only for those of us who are programmers. The normal (!) user, doesn't know about regular expressions, I guess. Maybe a coice box for plain text of regular expression type search whould be needed.

I never got around to adding that "regexp" tick box, I'll have a look at it.
The new popup-menu system is really nice, will be in the next release.
