When I cut a section from the start of a file, the start time offset is not adjusted
correctly. For example, if the start time offset of the original file was 8735 sec
and I remove 2000 seconds from the start of the file, wavesurfer displays
the shortened file as still starting at 8735 rather than at 6735.

This probably doesn't matter to the majority of users for whom the start time
is pretty much arbitrary, but it is very annoying when working with data that
is synchronized to some external clock or to other (e.g. audio or video) data.

I'm not sure exactly what you refer to with "start time offset". Could it be that you are cutting an ESPS sound file that has an associated Waves transcription file and that the labels don't get adjusted during the cut?
