I have just downloaded WaveSurfer and successfully opened it on my Mac (OSX.2.1). I imported an AIFF file successfullly, but as soon as I tried to configure it as a spectrogram, the application closed and I received a message that "the application has unexpectedly quit." I've had this problem with other programs I've downloaded--any thoughts? I have lots of memory (1GB) so I don't think that's the problem. I've tried looking for preferences to trash, but didn't see any with the name "WaveSurfer" in my library.

Thanks,
Adele

I'm currently on vacation. This is a new problem to me, I'll be back with some info on how to debug this.

Thanks, looking forward to your reply.

An additional piece of information about the application unexpectedly quitting in OS X.2.1 is that it says "The application WishKit has unexpectedly quit."

Has there been any fix on this problem? I'm having it too, on Mac OS 10.2.8.

Thanks!

I've still not been able to determine which Mac's/OS version exhibit this problem. We only have a two year old iMac and a portable to test on. Never seen this problem. Since it seems easily reproducible, it's probably very easy fo fix.

Try starting WaveSurfer from the console with the flag -debug 6. Get it to crash and find the file wsurf.log in the root directory ~/wsurf.log. Send the file to me at kare@speech.kth.se
Thanks!
