Is it possible to compile the latest snack sources under cygwin? I'm using the latest version of cygwin and have managed to compile tcl and tk sources and installed them in /usr/local/lib. I've also downloaded the ming.zip and msys_mingw.zip packages as suggested in the README when not using vc++ and put them in /usr/local/lib. Now when I try to compile snack in the win directory I get the error:

jkAudIO_win.o(.text+0x3193):jkAudIO_win.c: undefined reference to `_snackHInst`

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, Esther

The latest Snack update contains configuration fixes for building with Mingw, maybe try that.

I downloaded the latest snack release and tried compiling it under cygwin. I went to the unix directory, typed in ./configure and then make. Everything seemed to work ok until I got to the following error message:

make: execvp: sound.o: Permission denied

I changed file and dir. permissions to 755, but still no success. Any hints?

I don't think this will work, since there's no port for Cygwin (yet).

Try using Mingw. In the win/ directory you'll find the configure/Makefile needed.
