Hello everyone,

I have a question about wavesurfer: is it possible to let the programme write the formant frequencies to an output file that can be directly imported into Excel or perhaps SPSS? That would save a lot of work when I have to analyse frequencies for my MA experiments. icon_smile.gif

Greetings.,

Press the right mouse button over the formant plot. Choose "Save Data File..." from the menu that appears. This will create a text file that can be read by Excel, you will have to choose delimiter "Space" in Excels Text Import Wizard. (You can also tell WaveSurfer to create Tab separated text files using Properties | Data Plot | Column delimiter.)
For SPSS you would use its ability to import data from a text file.

With the default formant analysis settings the first four columns are F1-F4 followed by B1-B4 in the next four columns.
