Hi,

When I try to load an MLF file (with a single file transcription), WaveSurfer interprets the 100ns units as seconds. Is this a bug or is my MLF incorectly formatted (see below for a representative example)?

Is WaveSurfer supposed to be able to read in an MLF with multiple file transcriptions? Is Wavesurfer intelligent enough to choose the appropriate transcription for the currently open wave file?

Thanks!
Trausti
(btw. I'm blown away by WaveSurfer)

MLF files should either be specified in Properties | HTK | "Master Label File" or be given on the command line like this

wavesurfer -config HTK -mlf test.mlf FirstFile.wav

The reason you get "seconds" is because WaveSurfer interpreted your file as a WaveSurfer Transcription file.

WaveSurfer's MLF parser needs improvement but if you add the ".lab" extension to the file names, like this

#!MLF!#
"*/FirstFile.lab"
000000000 107300000 0
...

everything will work, try the command line above (with the name of your MLF of course)

Also, it would be rather easy to implement a check for "Load Transcription..." to see if the file is a MLF file and to take the necessary action. Since I only have a couple of MLF files around and they work fine for me I probably won't fix this. There are other people though... Just state your needs and see what happens (or implement it yourself)
