About me
I am employed by the Unit
for Language and Communication, a part of the School of Education
and Communication in Engineering Science (ECE) at KTH. Since 2005, I have
been doing research on the use of English as the medium of instruction in
Swedish higher education. I completed my PhD in English linguistics in June
2010 at Stockholm
University,
Department of English, on the use of English as an academic lingua franca
in the applied science domain. My general research interests include
linguistic equality, language change, academic literacy and the use of
English as a lingua franca for academic purposes.
I received a grant from
the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet www.vr.se) in November 2010 for post-doctoral
work and spent four months at Roskilde University CALPIU research center
(Cultural and Linguistic Practices in the International University http://calpiu.dk/).
Currently, I am doing research on the pragmatic aspects English as a lingua
franca as the medium of education, focusing on polyadic lingua franca
speech in student-student interaction.
