Spoken in Italy and the western part of the Roman Empire in Antiquity; also used as a second language ever since.
Spoken in Greece since the second millennium B.C.
Spoken mainly in West Bengal (India) and in Bangladesh (more than 171 million native speakers according to the 2005 edition of Ethnologue and c. 210 million including second-language speakers).
Language created by L. Zamenhof in the 1880's.
