An open symposium arranged in conjunction with Marco Fabiani's doctoral thesis defence.

Recently, music and sound research have focussed on new theories of music communication, in particular involving aspects such as embodiment, emotion communication and ecological acoustics. Experimental methodology has been significantly improved with the development of new technology and methods for measuring and analysing both human gestures and audio recordings. This includes also sensor technology for gestural real-time control of the music process allowing completely new ways of interacting with music.

For questions regarding the symposium, please contact Marco Fabiani (himork at kth.se) or Anders Friberg (afriberg at kth.se).

Location: KTH, Room Fantum, Lindstedtsv. 24, 5th floor, Stockholm
