General informationLocal TransportationArrival at Arlanda Airport (Stockholm's international airport): Arlanda Express, a direct train connection to the Stockholm Central Station, leaves every 15 minutes from Arlanda Airport, and is specially designed with extra space for luggage. The journey takes about 20 minutes and costs SEK 160/80 (student). Taxis are available outside the arrival hall at Arlanda airport. Prices may vary considerably, so you are advised to ask for the price before entering the taxi. Many taxi companies offer a fixed price of SEK 350 - 450 from Arlanda airport to Stockholm city centre and the driver is obliged to give you a printed receipt on request. On-site Registration at KTHOn-site registration will start on August 5 at 15.00. The registration desk is located at KTH. MealsCoffee and lunch is included in the registration fee and will be served daily BadgesEach participant will receive a name badge upon registration. For security reasons all participants are requested to wear their badge during all the conference activities and social events. Details on postersWe allocate two poster boards arranged in a V (approx. angle 120 deg) to each poster presentation. This means that you will have two poster boards available for displaying your material, each with the dimensions 90 cm (width) x 190 cm (height). See picture. You can check your e-mail at the KTH Library (KTHB), conveniently located in connection to the conference area. The library is open between 8:00 and 17:00, closed Saturday, August 9. You will receive a password when registrating at the conference. CurrencyThe official currency is Swedish Krona (SEK). As a rule of thumb 1 EUR =
1 USD = 9 SEK Banks and Post OfficesBanks are open between 09.30/10.00 and 15.00 on weekdays. Some banks in central Stockholm are open from 09.00 to 17.00. Post Offices are generally open between 09.30 and 18.00 on weekdays and between 10.00 and 13.00 on Saturdays. The Post Office at the Central Station is open from 07.00 to 22.00 on weekdays and from 10.00 to 19.00 during weekends. ClimateThe weather in Stockholm in August may be changing. Sunny days with temperatures between 15 and 25° C may alternate with rainy days. ElectricityElectrical current in Sweden is 220 V/50 Hz. Round, European-style two-pin plugs are used. Appliances designed to operate on 110/120 Volts need a voltage converter and a plug adapter. Passport and VisaParticipants are advised to make their own arrangements with respect to entering Sweden. Please note that if you wish to participate in a tour outside Sweden, you may need a multiple entry visa to Sweden. Time ZoneThe time zone in Stockholm is GMT + 1 hour. Daylight Saving Time is used during the summer.
