Experiments with the See ColOr Interface

Abstract

See ColOr is a mobility aid aiming at helping visually impaired individuals to perceive the environment. The key idea behind the See ColOr sonification interface is the association of musical instrument sounds with colors and distance to objects coded by sound rhythm. In this talk several experiments will be presented. Specifically, the defined tasks were for instance : (1) to match colored socks; (2) to follow a painted path on the ground; (3) to find a colored target in a room.
